Due to Covid, we have not had any live events yet, but most agreed that we had a super event on 6th August 2020 when Alan Hudson mystified us all with some incredible magic.

6th August 2020 – Our first event. 30ish spellbound people.!

Friday 20th November 2020 – Virtual Cheese and Wine tasting

Cheese – photo by Lady Mayoress Hilary Russell. The one in the middle is her homemade membrillo

Just a sample of the over 50 members ( Masters and Consorts) who attended this great fun event. Mollie in the bottom corner was fun and knowledgeable and most learned a lot about Spanish cheese and wine.

Informal Pre-Christmas Zoom

Twenty two of us plus some consorts joined together to listen to the Lord Mayoress explain her beauty regime, the Lord Mayor tell us about the exiting plans to re-open the city week, the Chairman to tell of the plans for the future events and all enjoyed a general get to know each other over informal zoom break out rooms.

25 January 2021 3pm – Virtual City Walk The Changing Face of Spitalfields

Spitalfields is a dynamic part of London’s old East End. Our blue badge guide John Steel took us on a virtual walk in chronological time, as we observed the changing face of Spitalfields; from medieval church remains, to Georgian terraces, churches, famous Victorian housing and market to the vibrant art scene of today. With a history of changing immigration bringing new cultures and religious beliefs, Spitalfields is truly unique and John was a great host. 25 of our members plus consorts attended this excellent event.

Monday 22nd February 2021

Thirty of us came together to hear fellow member Alderman Alison Gowman answer a myriad of questions about her ideas should she be elected Sheriff in four months time. She was very impressive as usual and we all wish her all the best with the election and her year.

11th March 2021

Zoom informal get together after the committee meeting. About 20 screens joined us and a very convivial time in renewing friendships. We have built up some great friendships and will be doing lots of different things together in the future. I could not face putting in yet another photo of people on zoom. (Also, I forgot to take one).

11th June 2021

Another zoom get together after the committee for around 20 screens.

13th September 2021

Our first live lunch at Ironmongers – 44 attended and as you can see it was most enjoyed.

17th September 2021

A wonderful evening as we took two tables at the Sheriffs Ball in aid of the Lord Mayors appeal. An evening that raised over £50K. We did our bit by winning four of the items in the silent auction
