Perry Bousfeld ( PM Cooper) and Nick Hunter-Jones (PM Merchant Taylor) took part in the Marketors Golf day, at the beginning of July, David Smith (PM Cook) was going to join us, unfortunately though he had COVID, and had to withdraw at the last minute, our other two golfers  Ian Spring (PM Bowyer) and Huntly Taylor  (Spectacle Maker), were both on holiday, we were joined by Sam Samuels, a Freeman of the Upholders, introduced to us by the Marketors, and an Artisan member of the Verulam, the Club where the competition is held. We were royally entertained, and I would say we discharged ourselves well, coming about half way up the field.

The Verulam has an interesting history, it was designed and built by Sam Ryder and used for the inaugural Ryder Cup, it wouldn’t be long enough for the pro’s today, it has some great holes and spectacular views.

This event is held each year, I hope that we will be able to put a team together from our members in future years. We only have four golfers in our little group, I think there must be others who would be interested in joining us, if so please do contact me Perry.bousfield@gmail.com. We have had a couple of games amongst ourselves, at Denham, where I belong, and I would be happy to arrange another in the Autumn. Please don’t worry too much about handicaps, it is the camaraderie that matters.  Please contact Perry direct even if you might just want to be kept informed about future golf events.
